It can seem like the whole world is shifting right under our feet. As we move through our daily lives, learning and trying to understand ourselves, there’s always that sudden curveball that seems to throw us off-kilter each time. The challenge in times of unrest and distress is to remember who we are. Keep yourself grounded in your truth and always remember that tough times don’t last – but tough people do.
We’re focusing on the Root Chakra this week, otherwise known as the first Chakra or Muladhara. With just one more week left in February, we’re pretty sure there’s been a situation or two that’s tried to ruffle your feathers. As we look forward to March, we wanted to strengthen our connection with ourselves by trying not to take control of what’s going on around us, but by maintaining our peace by “watering our roots.”
Keep It Steady
The Root Chakra is the energy within us that is fed by our support systems – family and friends. It grows from a love that helps us feel safe, secured, and wanted. The word “Muladhara” in Sanskrit translates to the word “ foundation.” This Chakra is located at the base of the spine and is important to building our sense of self from the ground up. It is this energy that allows us to stand against the winds of whatever storm blows our way.
But the Root Chakra also hits a little deeper. It brings out the fight in us. It shows up in our willpower, in our persistence, and in our choices to let go or forgive. It is an energy that steers us in the direction of growth and personal consciousness.
Let’s Get Centered
Get more connected to the earth. Feel the wind in your hair, the earth between your toes. Hear the sound of water flowing, or the birds singing. Your Root Chakra energy loves a good laugh, a hug, and quality time with your besties. It is the first chakra; feeding its energy means a good start to all things great and wonderful.
If you’re interested in a little Yoga, the Triangle Pose or the Earth Mudra can help you relax and tap into your Root Chakra. In addition to yoga, Rosemary is a great herb that helps refresh your mind, body, and soul. Try out the Rosemary Scalp Scaling Shampoo, Rosemary Scalp Scrub by Aromatica and let us know how they help you activate your Root Chakra!
