At our core is a sacred place from which our feelings and ideas stem from. It’s a place that’s home to an energy that feeds our self-acceptance, willpower and independent drive. This particular energy takes shape in our third chakra, the Solar Plexus or Manipura, and is known as the “place of gems.”

This energy is all about identity and drive. It’s located above the navel and its role is often likened to that of the sun because it’s at the core of our independent self. If you need a boost in your proactivity, reliability, and self-perception – feed your Solar Plexus. It’s our primary source of warmth and strength. When our Manipura is balanced and in harmony, we’re more motivated, energized and have a greater sense of direction.
More importantly, taking care of this energy means protecting our fire inside. It’s the fire that strengthens us and lets us push aside the noise of self-doubt, inadequacy, insecurity, and fear. A healthy Solar Plexus is the difference between being proactive versus reactive or inactive. It keeps us focused on our internal strength and helps us manage our emotions so that we can better handle external concerns and stresses.

Set aside some me-time for yourself. Keep the kind of company that will reinforce your self-appreciation goals. Get into meditating and make your happiness a priority by doing the things that you love. Be sure to acknowledge your feelings and address uncomfortable emotions. Once you learn to manage and curb these sentiments, you can realign your Manipura and bring back your vitality.
